IN WITH THE NEW

My site needed a rework for forever, just never found the time and passion to do it.

On top of a new site design, I’m adding SEVERAL services that I felt were missing and simply categorized at too basic and bland to add to the services page on my previous site. I’ve since been advised that it’d probably be a good idea to be as descriptive and in detail as possible as not everyone has the knowledge and information that I have.

Services:

  • Windows Recovery

  • MacOS Recovery

  • Malware Removal

  • LGA Repair

  • PGA Repair

  • Screen Replacements

  • Crash Recovery

  • Device Cleaning

  • Password Removal

  • FREE Diagnostics

  • Computer Optimization

  • Storage Replacement or Upgrade

  • Data Backup & Recovery

  • Custom / Gaming Computer builds

  • Home Network Setup & Troubleshooting

  • Battery Replacement

  • …and more coming soon!

Currently, I’m limiting my repair scope to desktops and laptops. Phone and Tablet repairs may be offered, but I can no longer guarantee that the replacement part(s) I order have good quality and will last. This is due to the growing costs of parts, as well as quality control issues with mobile components. Additionally, due to some companies pursuing anti-repair designs, the most basic of repairs cannot be completed due to excess glue, lack of battery tabs or poor tabs, excess screws that are only around 1.2mm-1.5mm in size, and repair duration times being long due to these issues. There are, of course, many other factors that can affect the process of mobile repair. If you have any questions on this, I’d be more than happy to answer them.

On top of the new services, I’ve created some notifications for my clients that better describe the ways I use your data, how I handle data loss risk, how I secure your data, and an explanation that details the many things that can occur that can make a repair impossible or inadvisable. I’ve listed them below.

Data loss risk during repair:

Please be advised that while I take every precaution to protect your data during repairs, there is always a risk of data loss due to the nature of certain hardware and software problems and procedures. I strongly recommend that you back up all important files before service begins. This includes but is not limited to your documents, photos and videos. I am NOT responsible for data that is lost, corrupted, or unrecoverable during the repair process unless data backup or recovery services have been requested in advance.

Damage Waiver:

  1. Pre-Existing damages and Fragile Condition — If the device has any previous damage, they will be noted. Any of these presented and documented damages will be shared before the repair. You acknowledge that there is damage to the device.

  2. Risk of Additional Damage During Repair — Opening or disassembling your device may worsen existing damage or cause new damage due to brittleness, corrosion, or extreme wear and tear. I am not liable for any further damage post repairs given any pre-existing damages. Some components, such as ribbon cables, screens, internal soldered components, etc. may be non-repairable without total replacement. Repairs involving heat or pressure, such as screen replacements or Motherboard/CPU repair may lead to unintended collateral damage to adjacent components.

  3. Third-party Parts & Limitations — In cases where aftermarket or third-party parts are used, you acknowledge that these parts may not be an identical fit, finish, or have the same quality or durability compared to the original manufacturers components. Additionally, you accept any limitations or aesthetic differences that may be the result of a repair.

  4. You release me from any liability related to cosmetic issues, compatibility, and other challenges related to 3rd party components.

  5. Water or Liquid Damage — Repair attempts carry a beyond significant risk of failure, short-circuit, or further corrosion - even if the device appears operational during first inspection.

  6. No Guarantee of Full Functionality — You understand that due to the complexity of modern electronics and potential unseen damage, not all functionality may be restored. Devices may still require additional repairs or part replacements following the initial inspection and repair. My services are performed to the best of my ability. No one is perfect, including me. I will always give a repair 110% of my attention and provide warranties based on my own level of trust in the repair.

  7. Confirm that you have read and understand this waiver and agree to the terms freely.

Warranties are changing!

I will be adding more details on this in the future. Right now, that’s still under development.

Non-Payment / Abandonment Waiver

After a repair, the laptop payment is YOUR responsibility. If you are unable to afford a repair, I’d be more than willing to assist. HOWEVER, in special cases, if you fail to pick up your device or do not pay for the repair 30 days after the repair, the device can no longer be claimed and will remain with me. Attempting to claim your device after the 30 days will add an additional storage fee, or may not be possible due to the device being sold or recycled.

Password & Access Waiver

When repairing a device, I will more than likely require the pin or password to the device. This is a requirement to complete some repairs. If you share your password and/or pin, you consent to me viewing your data if it’s necessary for the repair. Rest assured, I will do everything in my power to make sure your device is secure and that you maintain your confidentiality. That being said, If you do not wish to share your password, you will need to remove it from the device before the repair can be made.

Special thanks to Cat Frato for assisting in shaping how my services should be advertised.
